Taanaa na taananaa naa

Only once in a huge while we find such television shows , which teach you a lesson with no effort ,where the plots are not complex but they keep you mesmerized , Where you know in each episode the climax of the story is going to be good winning and evil losing the grounds , and even in few plots there won't be any antagonist at all, still the simple human feelings, and love and affection are so well depicted that you love it all. Malgudi, a perfect society, I sometimes used to believe that it really existed. When the world is full of mistrust , suspicion and competing for being more crafty and refined , small stories like these have inculcated the morals and simplicity in many and serials like Malgudi Days have shaped many younger minds.
R. K Narayan, the writer extraordinaire, puts a story so simply that I would even put him in the class of Prem chand and Tolstoy and Gorky. The icing on the cake was the title song/music - "Tana na na na na Tana na na na na" which is still a favourite of many of my generation .

I somehow feel myself very fortunate that I grew up in a time when television was really a source of education family entertainment(at least till I was in mid teens ) . I take pity on the kids who are growing up with cable and cartoon network and are missing up the real lessons of life .
